We Have a 5 Month Old Today!

I can't believe my little man is almost a half a year old.

"Oh Good Morning Mom!"

Time seems to be flying by.  I feel like it was just yesterday that I woke up at 5am to my water breaking.  All the while Andy woke up and stayed in a state of frozen shock realizing that we were becoming parents whether we were ready or not.  My sis said that once you start having a family time seems to pass right by you.  I think she's right.  She also said that it's about time to have another.  YIKES! I need to catch my breath after having Noah and maybe once he's at least a yr, or as Andy corrects 2 yrs, then we might start planning.  He's plenty for us right now and I'm sure he's not wanting to share any of the attention yet!

This is a picture from yesterday of Noah eating sweet taters.  I just thought it was cute and had to share.  Andy said I can't use it for his 5 month picture because he was technically 1 day away from it in this picture.

Yummy Valentine's Day Dessert!

Being that Valentine's Day tends to be a holiday big on people going out for a romantic dinner, I probably won't see Andy unil late tonight.  However...

I think I may have found the next dessert I will make when Andy and I are actually able to enjoy a dinner together!  How delicious does this look?
Recipe found here

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Noah's Inner Monologue

So what is there here that I would actually enjoy playing with?

Well definitely not that weird looking contraption!

Mom, please I can use some help here!

Perfect! The foot of my favorite toy shoved into my mouth is exactly what I was hoping for!

Ghost Hunter's BIG News

Andy and I with Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson of Ghost Hunters at the Buffalo Central Terminal Investigation

Last night I finally watched Wednesday night's episode on my favorite Wednesday night show Ghost Hunters. It was mentioned of some BIG news that could change Ghost Hunters forever from one of the members of the team.  Ahhh of course this is going to drive me crazy for the next week until we FINALLY find out the news!

So many are going to start speculating as to what it is.  Someone's leaving, the show is being cancelled, etc.

1.) Other members have left the show and it hasn't been made out as a big announcement for the show.  (With a small exception that Kris Williams mentioned she was leaving Ghost Hunters for Ghost Hunters International (GHI) during the Halloween live episode.  Which was perfectly fine with me as she seemed too concerned with herself and the little bit of fame she may have instead of the investigating itself.)

2.) I believe the show is presently signed on for at least 1 more season.

3.) My guess is that if someone is leaving it has to have something to do with the core team, Grant, Jason, even Steve or Tango.

4.) Even further, my guess is that it has something to do with Grant and here's why.  On the TAPS website where they list events, Grant hasn't been mentioned as attending any in a long time.  This is very unlike him as he was very frequent at these events.

Overall I hope he's not leaving because he's such a great investigator with a fantastic personality.  Not to mention he's also my favorite!

In the meantime you can find me sitting in front of the computer biting my fingernails and stalking their facebook and twitter pages until the big news is revealed.

Picture Messages

Every once in a while I get cute litte pictures of Noah while he's at nana's house during the day.

Cute little photos like these!

Noah with his cousin Natalie

I LOVE getting these and they cheer me up immensely.  Today, however, I was thinking of how nice it would be to get a picture of Andy because he also can cheer me up.  So this was a text/picture message conversation between him and me today:

Me: "Andy, can you send me a picture of yourself?  I always get picture messages of Noah while I'm working but never you.  I'm sure this would also cheer me up!"

Andy: No Response

Me:  "Andy, can you send me a picture of yourself?  I always get picture messages of Noah while I'm working but never you.  I'm sure this would also cheer me up!"

Andy: "There ya go!"

Me: "Haha perfect! :)"
"Here's one for you because I know you are dying for one too!"

I knew that asking for a picture from Andy would cheer me up.  It may have been a cheesy myspace/facebook type of self portrait from a mirror in the bathroom but I wouldn't expect anything less.  He ALWAYS finds a way to put a smile on my face! :)

The Best Salad Ever!

I'm by no means a cook or anything close to.  My idea of cooking, with the exception of baking, is to dump, mix, and pour whatever looks good to me.  The salads I make are no exception and I pretty much say, "This is the BEST salad Ever" to almost everyone.  Mostly because I just plop whatever looks delicious to me at the time together, make one of my favorite vinegarettes and chow down.  My salads and vinegarettes are different everytime I make them. I made this one to go with my dinner yesterday and of course found myself saying, "This is the BEST salad ever!".

Please excuse the fact that I have very little if any measurements at all.  I seriously just add until it looks good.

Ingredients for Salad:

Baby romaine
Sliced white button mushrooms (or really any mushroom you like)
Chick Peas (almost a constant MUST in my salads)
Cucumber sliced into cubes
1/2 of a sweet yellow onion chopped (or more if you really like a lot of onion)
1 avocado cut into cubes or bite size pieces
However much of the vinegarette you want to add (see ingredients below)

Vinegarette:

Chopped fresh parsley
1 clove of chopped garlic
Sprinkle of italian seasoning
Salt and pepper
Tablespoon or so of sugar
Cider vinegar
Extra virgin olive oil
* Again, no precise measurements because I add until it looks and tastes yummy

Things to Wonder...

Here are some things to question, ponder and think about, or at least that's what I do.

Questions to be Answered...

  • Why do tourists go to the top of tall buildings and put money into telescopes to see things on the ground?
  • Why is Greenland icy and Iceland green?
  • We have the speed of light but what is the speed of dark?
  • Why do black olives come in a can and green olives come in a jar?
  • How do the random shoes that you find on the road get there?
  • What do sheep count to fall asleep? People?
  • Why do hot dogs come in a package of 10 but when you buy buns there are only 8?
  • There's 7-up but what happened to the first 6-ups
  • In the nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty, where does it say that He is an Egg?
  • Why is the word short longer than the word long?
  • If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares then why sing a song about it?
  • Who discovered milk from a cow?  I mean who thought "I wonder what comes out of those dangly things when they are squeezed?" and then proceeded to drink what did come out?
  • If the number 2 pencil is so popular then why is it not called number 1?
  • Why do doctors call what they do a practice?
  • Why there are automatic soap dispensers.  They are suppose to be there to prevent contact with germs on the soap but isn't the whole idea of getting soap to then proceed to wash the germs away anyway?
  • Why do we call a person we invest our money into a broker?
  • Why do you call something transfered by car a shipment but something transfered by boat a cargo?
  • Why isn't there mouse flavored cat food?
  • Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?
  • Why are there words like "lead" and "lead" and "resume" and "resume"?  They have the EXACT same spelling but completely DIFFERENT annunciations and meanings?  Couldn't they find a different word for the different meanings?
